Share a List of Links With Sets

Forrst, the sharing service built to allow designers and developers to share, comment, and critique each other’s work has recently been sold to Zurb (who also own colourlovers). Although those sites are great and offer some very cool tools and services, that isn’t what this post is about. Kyle Bragger the creator and founder of Forrst is now free’d up to explore new projects and invest his time in a new creation. That creation is called Sets – makesets.com. Essentially, you can share a list of links with Sets. These lists can be shared and viewed in a feed similar to Twitter. Think tweets that are specifically formatted and grouped into a topic. Each item is a link with a short synopses of what the article is about. In the web design world designers and developers alike have become fond of Sidebar, a daily set of a few links that are relevant to the web design world. Now, Sets arrives as a platform to do this for the average user.
I can see sets becoming a solid tool to augment streams of linked articles on twitter. Personally, I keep tabs on the pulse of tech media throughout the week, but can only find a sliver of time to research and write a post about something. Sets comes to the rescue and allows me to share a link to a great article in a platform that just makes sense. We’re going to give it a shot over here at 8ninths, click here to check out our set and follow us on Facebook and Twitter to keep tabs on our updates. Create a set of your own? Let us know in the comments and we will be sure to subscribe.
